Best Management Practices: (Also known as "BMPs")

BMPs, are techniques and common-sense actions required, by law, that assure protection of the environment during forestry operations — from harvesting to reforestation — with a focus on maintaining water quality in lakes, rivers and streams.

In addition to assuring that our professional forestry personnel are trained in BMPs, Pine Mountain Hardwood Lumber Company supports programs, such as the Kentucky Master Logger Program, that help assure our employees, as well as commercial loggers, are educated in forest ecology, wildlife management and industry economics.
